Biography:

Recognized for her sensitive treatment in fiction of urban dramas permeated by a humanist character, from which characters in crisis emerge, filmmaker Lina Chamie also transfers this perspective to documentary genesis. Chamie directed the following feature films: “Tônica Dominante” (2001), which earned him, among other awards, the Kodak Vision Award/WIF, in Los Angeles, and the São Paulo Association of Art Critics Award - APCA, in 2001; “A Via Láctea” (2007), world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Official Selection of the “Critics Week”, “Casa de América” Award, Madrid/Spain, with participation in more than 80 festivals around the world, received numerous awards and recognition from national and international criticism; “Santos - 100 Anos de Futebol Arte” (2012), official film celebrating the centenary of Santos F. C.; “São Silvestre” (2013), which received the award from the São Paulo Association of Art Critics - APCA as Best Documentary in 2014; “Os Amigos” (2014), feature-length fiction film, awarded in Gramado and released in 2014; “Dorina - Olhar para o Mundo” (2016), feature-length documentary film for HBO. “Santos de Todos os Gols” (2019), his seventh feature film, is a metaphysical film about the moment of the goal with the team that scored the most goals in the history of world football. His most recent film, “Kobra Auto Retrato” (2022), is a feature-length documentary about Eduardo Kobra, an internationally renowned Brazilian graffiti artist and muralist. The film won the award for Best Documentary Feature Film at the 2023 Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix, receiving the Grande Othello Trophy.
