Biography:
Boris Vasilyevich Bedny (1916–1977) was a Russian novelist. Bedny began to write before the Second World War, but seriously engaged in it only in 1946. He started out publishing in the local newspaper, and in 1952 entered the Literary Institute. In the same year, his collection of stories dedicated to the workers of the forest industry, 'The Big Stream', was published. In 1961, his most famous novel, 'Girls', was published, which was translated into 15 languages and was adapted into a popular comedy film. The film 'Steppe Dawns' (1953) was also based on a novel of his.
