Becca Roth

Becca Roth is an award-winning narrative and documentary filmmaker who has written and directed films that have screened at film festivals and in communities worldwide. She is interested in telling stories that explore themes of queerness, otherness, human-ness, sense of self, and identity (among a million other things). She lives with her wife, dog, and two cats in Brooklyn, NY. Becca is now in development on her debut narrative feature film, Margo & Perry. During Sundance 2020, it was announced that Margo & Perry is one of ten scripts on The GLAAD List, which is a roster of the ten most promising unmade LGBTQ-inclusive film scripts selected by The Black List and GLAAD. The script also won the 2019 Tracking-Board Launch Pad Competition, and came in second place in the Slamdance Screenplay Competition. It was a semifinalist for Austin Film Festival Script Competition, is one of three finalists for the New York Foundation for the Arts/ NYSCA Fellowship, was a semi-finalist for the Black List/ Women in Film LA Feature Residency, and received one overall rating of 10 and two overall ratings of 8 on The Black List. Becca recently directed a proof of concept short film version of Margo & Perry, starring Sofia Black D’Elia (THE MICK, SKINS, THE NIGHT OF), Annie Parisse (FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE, LAW AND ORDER, HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS), and Charlotte MacLeod. The short is now in post production.
