Mikhail Roman was an Egyptian playwright. He was born and died in Cairo, where he received his education until he graduated from the Faculty of Science at Cairo University in 1947. He began his professional life as a teacher at the Higher Industrial Institute in Shebin El-Kom. Because he was fluent in the English language, he translated many international plays from English for radio and television. He also began writing short stories and literary articles. But starting in 1959, he turned entirely towards theatrical writing. Until his early and sudden death, he wrote seventeen plays, some of which were presented by Cairo theaters, and others were published inside and outside Egypt, but the majority of them remain unaccounted for.
